North Florida Land Trust presents JJ Grey at Congaree and Penn Farm and Mills on December 1

Limited number of tickets are available for the benefit concert

Jacksonville, Fla., June 25, 2018 – Tickets are now on sale for a benefit concert for North Florida Land Trust featuring JJ Grey, a Jacksonville native who has received worldwide acclaim with his band, JJ Grey and Mofro. Grey will be performing solo at a concert to benefit North Florida Land Trust on Dec. 1 at Congaree and Penn Farm and Mills.

“JJ Grey shares our commitment to conservation and we are extremely honored that he is playing a benefit concert for us to help us continue our mission of preserving lands for future generations,” said Jim McCarthy, president of NFLT. “JJ’s passion for the land is reflected in his songs and we look forward to having him join us for an afternoon of great music for our cause.”

Grey grew up in north Florida and is committed to his family’s land, which is a former chicken farm run by his maternal grandmother and grandfather. When he is not touring, he spends his time on the property that now holds a recording studio, gym, an old barn and a pecan grove. His music often includes references to the land and the changing landscape in northern Florida. He is described by fans as “a north Florida sage and soul-bent swamp rocker.”

Baystreet Band, another Jacksonville original, and their blues project, MillaJohn’s BlueSoul, will be opening for JJ Grey. The bands will perform under the oak trees overlooking the rice fields, orchards and ponds on the farm. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs. Multiple food trucks will be set up and Congaree and Penn Farm Cider and local beers from Bold City Brewery will be available for purchase.

Gates open at 12 p.m. General admission tickets are $60 each and include a signature cocktail by Manifest Distilling or a snow cone from Sunshine Grindz food truck. VIP tickets are $125 and include a farm to table tasting menu prepared by Congaree and Penn chef Ryan Randolph, plus beer, cider and wine. The VIP tent will boast the best view of the performance. Tickets can be purchased at Kids ages 3 and under are free.
